INCAR, FINLAND’S LARGEST CAR DAMAGE REPAIR CHAIN, AUTO VATÉN IN HEINOLA, AND HARRY LAMPINEN, OWNED BY A-KATSASTUS GROUP AND OPERATING IN THE HELSINKI METROPOLITAN AREA, TO MERGE

InCar Invest Oy, Auto Vatén Oy and Autopeltikorjaamo Harry Lampinen Oy will merge and form a nationwide InCar chain with 26 outlets, specialising in car damage repair and painting as well as maintenance. InCar's combined revenue will be nearly EUR 30 million. The chain’s personnel includes 190 automobile sector specialists, all of whom will continue in their current positions.

The majority shareholder of the newly established InCar company will be A-Katsastus Group, and the new company will be an independent subsidiary of the Group. Marko Jussila, the founder and main shareholder of InCar, will become the company’s largest private shareholder and the Managing Director of InCar. Tommi Vatén, the owner of Auto Vatén Oy, will be the InCar chain’s Operations Director and will also become a minority shareholder in the new company.

“A-Katsastus Group has been seeking growth from fields that are natural for us in the automobile sector during the past two years. Last year, we acquired the Autopeltikorjaamo Harry Lampinen Oy body shop, and the recent reorganisation of the InCar chain will consistently continue our chosen strategy. Our objective is to expand and become Finland’s leading provider of car repair shop services together with the best entrepreneurs in the sector. Marko Jussila, Tommi Vatén and Jyrki Lampinen are all both successful and respected entrepreneurs in their sector. The services and skilled personnel of their companies offer excellent opportunities to further strengthen the InCar chain. It is also of utmost importance to us to maintain InCar’s flexible, customer-focused operating models, and therefore, the company will carry on the solid principle of entrepreneur ownership. The role of A-Katsastus Group is, above all, to ensure sufficient resources for InCar and to boost growth”, says Kari Kivikoski, Chief Executive Officer  of A-Katsastus Group Oy, commenting on the background of the reorganisation.

“The merger offers the InCar chain enormous opportunities to further develop our services related to motor vehicle damage and repair and to provide increasingly diverse and high-quality services for all our customers, including insurance companies, consumer customers, and corporate and financing company clients. I believe that in addition to the range of services, we can also further improve the nationwide availability of our services, thanks to A-Katsastus Group’s network and resources”, says Marko Jussila, founder and Managing Director of the InCar chain.

The contracting parties have decided not to disclose the transaction price.

The completion of the transaction is subject to the approval of the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority (FCCA)
